We hope you enjoy visiting our web site and seeing the dogs that we have produced both in the past and in the present. We enjoy all of our dogs and interact with them daily. We breed only dogs that are good healthy dogs. We try to evaluate each breed for the health problems that occur in that breed before we breed them.

Bernese Mountain Dogs:
Our Berners have both hips and elbows x-rayed and submitted to OFA for evaluations. We have done the vWD genetic test on all our breeding dogs and know the status of all. We have tested all their eyes with board certified ophthalmologist and have most of them registered with CERF. Once our females reach a certain age (5 years) they are not done as often since most of the eye problems we are checking for begin before that age. Our stud dogs are checked yearly if they are still in a breeding program.

Irish Setters:
All of our Irish Setters are x-rayed and registered with OFA before any breeding is done. Since we test bred our dogs years ago, our dogs all come from genetically clear stock in regard to PRA (Progressive Retinal Atrophy). We have also done blood tests from Optigen to verify most of the test breedings that were done. The setters we breed are good healthy dogs with lovely coats and a dark mahogany color.

Announcement: Irish Setter litter due out of Santera Evening Star around Thanksgiving

Congratulations to Symi, daughter of our AM. CAN. CH. Santera Sterling Saber ex Ballymera's Whisperin' Wind (Mariah), on having her 13th birthday in June.
Memorial: "Tilly"- Santera Chantilly Maiden who died at 16 years in July 2010.

Tibetan Spaniels:
Our Tibetan Spaniels have proved to be very healthy and exhibited longevity in the bloodlines we have bred. Our first Tibbie lived to be 15.5 years. Both her daughters that were here also had long lives. They were both 16 when they died. The next Tibbie that we lost was a grandson of our first and he was 15 when he died. We have always had all the Tibbies’eyes checked by qualified board certified ophthalmologist to verify that they have no eye problems.

Congratulations to Santera Czarina's Paslee on obtaining her 2nd major and also to Santera Summer Breeze (now with 11 pts. - one major) and Santera Playing to the Ritz who has 7 points - both majors.

Congratulations for AM. CH. Santera Enchanting Pippin RN (2 legs on CD) for finishing her championship in style by winning a 4 point major one day and a 5 point major the next day.  She is a daughter of AM. CH. Santera Tri Jed Di and AM. CH. Santera Linka's Pixee.

We are proud of Santera Triad Celebration's (12 points) sister, Santera China Marionette for taking a 5 point major.  She now has 8 points and is just starting. They are out of Ingefal's Ecstasy and our AM. CH. Santera Tri Jed Di

Announcements -
1)
We had a great time at the Tibetan Spaniel Club of America held in York, PA, on March 17, 2010.   Ch. Santera High Society, better known as Emma, started it all off by going BEST VETERAN IN SWEEPSTAKES with Mary Novocin, her owner showing her. See photos below.

Then Mingo, Santera Playing to the Ritz, won 3rd in Open class. He is a son of our AM. CH.Santera Playing For Keeps and Santera Grandee Moca, Emma's sister.  Mingo won Open dog class the last day of the circuit.  He has not been shown, but once before (last year) so was great to be able to get him out and have fun.

Santera Paislee' Czrina, better known to her friends as Phoebee, went Reserve Winners for females at the National at her first show. She was just one year old the end of February. She was shown in Open. She is co-owned with Linda Foiles and shown by Linda Foiles. She placed all week. She took a 4th in Open one day, Best of Winners and a 5 point major another day, and won the Open class the last day.  Not bad for her first show weekend.

2) Santera Paislee's Czarina owned by Linda Foiles and Sandra Novocin going WB, BOW, and BOS at the supported entry 2 days following the Tibetan Spaniel Club of America's National Specialty. Better known as Phoebee, she also took Reserve at the National Specialty which happened to be her first show. She was just a few weeks over one year.  Phoebee is a daughter of our Santera Cherished Gem (Gemma) and Santera Time For a Party (Teco).
